Garth Brook in Concert Take 2!

 Garth Brooks scheduled another concert and I was able to get tickets to go again! I had originally gotten 3 tickets, one for me, Kenzie and Heath. On our way back from Moab, Heath decided that he didn't want to spend the rest of his night at a concert so Kristi took his place.  He dropped me and Kenzie off at Kristi's and we drove with her to the concert. I had SO MUCH FUN! Garth always bring so much energy and excitement to his concerts. Kenzie and Kristi said they enjoyed it too.  We ended up leaving a few minutes before it was over because I didn't want anyone running over Kristi who was in the last few weeks of pregnancy. Luckily I was able to catch a ride home with my friend Laura McGinnis who was at the concert too because Heath didn't want to wait around for us to get done. I think we got home around midnight. Einstein missed me! What a great way to end our vacation!

Woodhead Family Moab Vacation

 This year we got to spend a week in Moab with the Woodhead side of the family.  We had a blast! We rented two condos which were right across the hall from one another.  Our family and Kristi's stayed in one and Mom and Dad, Ashley's family and Ben and Steven stayed in the other. We spent Monday traveling and getting settled into our condos.  Monday we spent the day in Arches. Because of the large demand to get into the park they have changed to timed entry so we planned to go at 10. We joined together and hiked to Landscape Arch together and those that were faster than the rest of us not walking with kids went on further to check out the Double O Arch. We could see them up in the distance climbing straight up. They were so excited about their adventure. After our hike we stopped at the picnic area for sandwiches and then split up. Kenzie went back with the little kids because she really doesn't like hiking,  Addi left with Grandma and Grandpa, so Heath, Hunter, David, Steven and Ashley's family and I all hiked up to Delicate Arch. It was beautiful. 

Wednesday we checked out Goblin Valley.  It took us a good hour and a half to get there, but the kids really seemed to love it.  They were climbing everywhere.  In true form, Hunter, Steven and Heath left us to go see how high they could climb and we eventually caught sight of them high on the horizon on top of the surrounding mountains. Afterwards Heath took Hunter golfing at the Moab Golf Course. We ended the night with Grandma and Grandpa making macaroni and babysitting the littles while we got to enjoy a dinner and boat tour on the Colorado River.  They take you up the river pointing out things along the way and then you float back down in the dark listening to an audio about the history of the area while a car drives along the road shining a spotlight along the river walls.  It was quite enjoyable.

 

 

Thursday everyone went to the dinosaur museum but Addi wasn't feeling well so I stayed home with her.  We found some cute Netflix movies to occupy our time. 

Friday was a free-for-all.  Heath and Dad took Heath's truck off roading on trails leading back into Arches park.  I took Dad's truck with Ashley and hiked to Corona Arch and then hiked the opposite direction to Pinto Arch.  I was feeling the heat towards the end of the second half, but a quick rest and we were off again. I was glad Ashley was willing to go with me.  No one else wanted to and I really wanted to go. (Granted Kristi was very pregnant and shouldn't have gone.) 

Whenever we had a spare moment we spent it in the pool or eating delicious food.  I snuck back to my favorite food truck twice. Its called the Quesadilla Mobilla.  They have THE BEST quesadaillas I have ever had. Too bad we don't' have one in Logan.

Paddle boarding with friends

 We are having lots of fun playing with our new paddle boards.  This time we invited my friend Brooke Laursen, Kenzie's friend Sarah and her little sister Bridget (Addi loves playing with her) and Hunter took Logan. I grabbed us several pizzas and we headed over to Hyrum Dam for some fun.  Both Logan and Brooke had their own paddle boards so we had lots to play with. It was so fun seeing them all have so much fun! Hunter loves being a motor off the back of the paddleboard.  He will then jump off and get back on again multiple times.  If you happen (not by accident) to paddle away after he jumps in he freaks out a little until you come back for him.  Don't worry we always wear a life jacket.  That is my number one rule with our new toys. Addi has gotten braver on them, or else she just loved doing whatever Bridget was doing. Kenzie and Sarah spent their time paddling around and hanging out on it talking out further in the lake. Thankfully there were no earwig incidents this time. 

Maiden Voyage of the paddleboards

 Today was the first day we were able to take the paddleboards out for a ride.  We chose Hyrum Dam since it's close. We invited our neighbors the Silvers to come along too.  It worked out great because they were planning a day at the dam also. The kids and I had a blast swimming and paddle boarding.  Addi didn't want to get in the water much so she spent most of the time playing on the grass on her blowup dolphin. Towards the end of our day Addi came over to me frantic because she said she had a bug in her ear.  I looked and couldn't see anything, but then she would sit still for a minute and then freak out saying it was moving.  I had some tweezers in the car so we went and got those and I tried to see if I could grab anything but I couldn't. I thought we were going to have to end our day at instacare to get the "bug" out of her ear. I still couldn't see anything, but she was making me nervous.  I decided to pour some water into her ear and see what would happen.  Then I stuck the tweezers in again and out came an EARWIG! It was terrifying.  My poor baby.  She just wanted to be held after the whole ordeal was done. She bore her testimony at church a few days later and said she had prayed that Heavenly Father would help her and then we were able to get the earwig out.  It was such a sweet and simple testimony that it made me cry.  I love that she turned to her Heavenly Father when she needed help.
